Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: great images, extremely user friendly, compact, easy transfer

Weakness: occasionally overcorrects flash, very rare red eye

After a solid amount of playing with my new camera, I have been extremely pleased with the camera's image quality, ease of use, and features. Scene modes adjust nicely to different settings without playing specifically with shutter speed/flash/other settings. For an intermediate shooter like myself, the camera provided the perfect combo of image resolution, scene modes/features, and adjustment at a good price. Also got EZShare printer- great 5X7s with 1 button transfer.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: The camera is supercool in looks .

Weakness: In low light the LCD display is very dark and I can't seem to adjust the brightness

I bought this camera after doing lot of research in the net and feedback from my peers. When I got this, I was amazed to see the picture quality and easiness in using it. I was shooting with in 3 hrs after the Fedex guy left. (You've to charge the battery for ~3 hours before first use). I still have to invent all the advanced features and modes of the camera. But, if all DEFAULT and AUTO modes are this good, then I am sure it will be BETTER with advanced features. The battery life time is pretty good too.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: * portability * ease of use * excellent quality photos * end-to-end solution with optional printer doc * quick start-up

Weakness: * may be too small for those with big hands

My third Kodak digital, my FAVORITE Kodak digital! Kodak and I go way back -- all the way back to the fabulous DC265 I purchased in the late 90s. The company's offerings have only gotten better since then and I always recommend Kodak digitals to friends and family. This little (and I do mean LITTLE) point-and-shoot is perfect for the casual photographer and takes absolutely beautiful photos drenched in that wonderful Kodachrome color. Pop it in your back pocket (but don't sit down!) and you'll hardly notice it's there. It's so easy to use, I wouldn't hesitate using it to introduce my 76 year old mother to digital photography! Add a Kodak printer dock to the mix (essential!) and you need never go elsewhere for your photography needs. Seriously, no other company has the complete, seemless, end-to-end solution that Kodak offers.

Overall a good choice for traveling

Strengths: compact size. good battery life, includes fast charger. Includes broad range of features.

Weakness: settings cannot be saved. Slow when taking pic at regular speed

I've used this camera for over a year now, and used it intensively during a four-week trip abroad, where I too over 1gb of photos. The camera fits nicely into my neoprene sunglass bag and is ver nice an compact. Overall include features were enough and I'm quite happy with what's available for an average user. I still have problems with setting which need to be readjusted each time I take a new picture. Also, regular time between shots is very slow, especially when there are quick moments where I may not have time to go into the settign to change into burst mode.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Very slim, not bulky at all, very high quality camera, easy to access.

Weakness: I can't find any weaknesses for this camera. It's the right camera for the right budget.

I just bought this camera today and I start messing around with it already. It's a very nice camera for a low price. The quality of this camera can almost compare to my Sony DSC-T1. This one is more bulky but I still love it. This is the perfect camera for personal use or as a gift.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Good photo quality, compact and stylish

Weakness: No AF illuminator, no manual features

The LS743 is a small, easy to use camera designed for the casual snap shooter. The camera is a bit larger than ultracompacts such as the Canon SD300, but it is still small enough to comfortably fit in your pocket. The camera is well built, with a solid metal body.

The 1.8" LCD screen is excellent. The screen is high resolution and movement is fluid. The LCD is viewable even in bright sunlight.

The LS743 has a 4 Megapixel CCD sensor and a 2.8x optical zoom lens.

Picture quality is very good. Images are sharp, noise levels are low. Red-eye isn't very common, which is surprising for such a small camera. The flash is sufficiently powerful for most lighting conditions. Due to the lack of an AF illuminator, this camera does have trouble focusing in low light situations. Like most Kodak cameras, there are no manual features on the LS743.

There is a VGA movie mode, but it isn't very good. Movies are recorded in Quicktime format at only 13 FPS - as a result, they are very choppy.

Overall, this is a nice camera for casual snapshooters. The main downsides are the lack of an AF illuminator, a poor movie mode, and the lack of any manual features.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Decent 4 mega pixel camera with enough optical zoom, took very good in door pictures, fast shoot, easy to use.

Weakness: picture uploading software is a little bit dificult to install.

This camera is cute and easy to use, 4 mega pixel gave me large enough pictures with details, large LCD gave clear view, long battery life and fast shooting mode. I took pictures of my stuff in the room with regular light and the pictures are so nice. I love this camera!

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: 4 MP, 3x Zoom, Sleek look.

Weakness: So-so Flash.

This is a good camera for casual pics. It captures great shots outdoors and outputs acceptable pics indoors. The flash on the camera is not very strong. The camera uses SD memory for storage which is fairly inexpensive. The camera is fairly fast in its response and has good internal memory. It looks sleek and stylish. Picture quality is quite good for the cost and i am pleased with it.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: neat-designed, compact-sized, great picture

Weakness: none so far

I got his camera at a very good deal. The kit along with it (especially the kodak dock) is really handy. Love it on the first sight when I open the box.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Excellent quality pictures. Great price compared to either SONY or CANON. Very compact pocket size digital camera.

Weakness: Need to purchase a dock seperately. Slow shutter speed.

This camera is a nice choice for those looking for a compact, high resolution point-and-shoot camera. Enthusiasts will be turned off by its lack of manual controls and limited image quality choices, but the average shooter probably won't miss either.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: • Great size, slightly longer than the Canon Elph series, same weight. • Quality zoom, macro settings, and flash does not over-power in low-light situations.

Weakness: • Start-up time isn't as quick as some other models I checked out, but it has not yet caused me to miss a single shot with my 2-week-old baby. (it's also not as slow as other models)

I've been using it for a few weeks now, my primary reason was to replace an older nikon coolpix that was looking larger and larger with every new camera that came out. I wanted a good quality, small camera to carry around in my pocket/diaper bag for my daughter. Being a dad, it'll probably spend more time in my pocket! :)

I'm a graphic designer and use high-quality digital cameras all the time, and some of the pics I've received from this camera rival the really expensive professional models. I'm not saying they're exactly the same, but Kodak does a wonderful job with making all their cameras take great pictures. Consider the source, since switching into the digital arena, Kodak has to make sure that their future is solid, so why put out a product that isn't top quality!

I've had all but one shot come out in perfect focus (too close and forgot to switch to macro setting), all the shots with the flash have been relatively even for a cheap fill-flash. A little bit of red-eye in my baby's pictures, but with her being less than 2 weeks old, I'm not sure a better red-eye flash would work on her not-yet-fully-developed retinas. They probably wouldn't react to the other kinds yet either, and adults don't show red-eye like the baby. Give it a few more weeks and I'm confident that the red-eye will be a non-issue.

Switching between modes is super-easy, and fast, without having to go into menus (there's a little dial wheel right behind the shutter trigger button, and it tells you on-screen if you're not sure of the icon about what type of pics to use it with).

B/W and Sepia pics are really nice too, esp if you don't have professional photo editting software to do it yourself.

The color quality and clarity have been great so far as well, none of the fringing (purple or blue edges) that is expected of consumer-level digital cameras, I'm sure it will happen on a shot eventually, but not so far...

I'd recommend this camera to anyone needing a smaller, very lightweight camera (I forget it's in my pocket sometimes - and it's had NO PROBLEMS from the few times I actually sat on it before I remembered to take it out).

Another bonus, while I mentioned that the start-up time is not as fast as some... it's partly because the on/off button isn't easily turned on accidentally — which makes it nearly impossible to accidentally turn it on in your pocket, purse, diaper bag, etc...

The price has even gone down another $10 since I bought it 3 weeks ago! making it an even better buy! I believe that keeps it about $100 less than the comparable Canon Elph model - which I found to be the only competitor for this camera.

It does work with the 6000 series Kodak dock - better than inkjet prints because it's a thermal (phaser-type) or dye-sub printer (I can't remember which), but both are better for photography than our $250 Epson photo printer, and you don't even need to own a computer! I've had prints of my mother-in-law's printer dock and they look like a film print.

I can't say enough about it, I love it, it's tiny, lightweight, takes awesome pictures (2048x1758 = REAL 8x10 Quality). I highly doubt that you will be disappointed!

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: small size, fits great in my pocket. durable. automatic lense cover. great quality pictures. 640x480 video with sound. internal storage. quick picture taking after shutter is pressed.

Weakness: costly, but well worth it

I was really impressed with this camera. Looking at all prices and specs of just about all digital cameras, i decided this was the one for me. After receieving this project, i found it beat out all of my expectations. The menus are easy to use, picture quality is amazing. Camera takes picture quickly after shutter is pressed, and even moving shots are clear, not blurry at all. 640x480 video with sound is great. Not camcorder quality, but a good size for home use without taking up too much storage space. I would highly reccomend this camera to anyone looking for a good general use camera.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Great scene modes, lots of options, 4.0mpx, compact, good battery life!

Weakness: price

This camera is a bit pricy compared to some others but well worth it. I am amazed at it's size, which is slightly longer than a credit card but shorter than that. It is pretty much the size of my cell phone! Besides that, the camera is of excellent quality from my beginner perspective. the pictures are clear and crips with great colors. Moreover, absolutely fantastic builty in scenes (15 total I think), which makes it a great camera for beginners who want to take pictures and print them in larger size than just a 4x6.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Screen Size, battery life, picture quality, video, price very reasonable

Weakness: optical zoom could be better, needs extra memory (suggest 256mb minimum)

so far have taken about 25 pictures and they look great. the 4 mps allows for larger pictures as I had one made 8*10. The camera is easy to use, especially for those who are new to digital cameras. Can be used for simple point and shoot. Or you can use the extra features. The video is a nice feature as well. And the camera is sleek, fits in a large pocket and has a great size screen.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: Great versatilty, easy to handle and hold. Excellent quality images, fun effects, like video and sepia .

Weakness: Traditional View finder is very small, prefer to use the LCD image screen.

This is a great camera for a first time digital user. Great price, great versatility and easy to use. As a a former 35 mm user, I struggled along time to make the move to digital, and this camera made it really easy. Accessories are easy to find, and the Kodak name is good buyer assurance.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: This is a great camera. One of the best buys for your money if you are looking for semi - professional photos. Very Easy to learn. Great battery life.

Weakness: It appears the blurry quality is better, with the flash on, but I would suggest looking at another model

My shots have come out clear, and in fully automatic mode, the point-and-shoot couldn't be easier. And it's tiny - the size of a pack of cigarettes - so I take it everywhere.
Complain:There's NO camera case included. When spending several hundred dollars on a camera, I don't expect Canon to be cheap and not include a case. A small gripe, but annoying nonetheless.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 4 Megapixel Compact Camera

Strengths: slick design, very good looking and to use. 4MP

the 4MP is a must for today's technology. the 2.8 optical zoom is kind of off normal specs, as normally it is 3.0 optical. the 3.6 extra digital zoom is almost useless. this camera is very easy to carry and battery life is so so.

Kodak EasyShare LS743 Digital Camera Review

The Kodak EasyShare LS743 is equipped with a Schneider-Kreuznach C-Variogon 2.8x optical zoom and 10x total zoom lens, but lacks accessory lens options. The CCD measures 1/2.5 inches, with a 4:3 aspect ratio, and has 4.23 megapixels. The camera has 16MB of internal memory, and with the addition of accessory memory cards it is capable of reaching a total of 256MB of memory. This would allow it to...
