Nikon Coolpix S7c Digital Camera
Strengths: WiFi, excellent and easy-to-follow menu, compact, excellent picture quality
Weakness: Pictures somewhat grainy in low light conditions
I bought this camera mainly for its WiFi capability, and I absolutely love it!! I am a novice and not a professional photographer, but the ease of use of the camera and the picture quality are fantastic!!! Somtimes pictures are a bit grainy when using the flash in low light situations, but still excellent quality and not very noticeable unless looking very carefully. I love the WiFi capability which allows me to transfer photos easily to my WiFi computer and printer without cables. Also, the price on this camera is a bargain for all of the features it has to offer.

very bad camera , White Spots Blobs & Circles Ruin 75% of Photos
Strengths: looks
Weakness: 75% of images taken by this camera are ruined by white blobs, white halos, white circles, white comets, or other white artifacts that cover portions of the image
75% of images taken by this camera are ruined by white blobs, white halos, white circles, white comets, or other white artifacts that cover portions of the image. They show up randomly, with little rhyme or reason. Appears to be some sort of camera design flaw that allows flash light to bounce around inside the lens system. The artifacts move around in location from photo to photo, and are not the sort of thing you can fix easily in a photo editing program, so it's a deadly flaw, particularly when they pock-mark your subject's face. When this problem was brought to notice of Mr David Dentry, General Manager, Technical Support , Nikon Inc, he wrote "Our engineers have studied the problem at length and it only happens when there is particulate in the air. Smoke, water vapor, dust, etc. I am not implying that your area is dusty because a single piece of dust in the air can cause this. Again, there is nothing else we can do. Sorry." but as per my observations the spots are appearing in the very clear air conditioned environment also.

impossible to get a good flash photo
Strengths: looks, WiFi, large screen
Weakness: impossible to get a good flash photo
As much as I hate to give this camera a 1 it really needs it. EVERY picture I have taken with the flash has had orbs in it and not just 1 or 2 i'm talking 10+. Initially when I first started taking photos and noticed it i thought it was just dust floating around in the air that when the flash went off it picked up but thats not the case. I believe the flash being so close to the lens is the main fault in the orbs, like I said every single photo i took with the flash had at least 5 very noticeable orbs in it. once i knew it was a problem i found it very hard to look past them please as much as you might be a Nikon fan like myself, do not buy this camera!

Nikon Coolpix S7
Strengths: Metallic body and compact design. 3" LCD. Great images. Slideshow feature.
Weakness: None that I have noticed yet, but need more time to test camera.
I originally purchased a Sony T50 due to the new touchscreen LCD interface. I am inept with cameras and figured it would be the perfect user-friendly camera (it was very user friendly). Then my parents visited and showed us their Nikon Coolpix S6.
We took side-by-side images in a dimly-lit setting. The first was of a stationary object while shaking the camera. The second was of my wife dancing and swinging her hair while the cameras remained steady. In both instances the Sony images were blurry and had noise while the Nikon was perfectly clear.
I was both upset and surprised since I spent much more for the Sony, which claims to have an image stabilizer. (Nikon has a Vibration Reduction feature). I got Circuit City to match a pricegrabber merchant and paid $399 for the Sony T-50, $89 for a 1-gig Sony Duo-Pro Memory Stick, and then bought a spare battery on internet for $46 (spare battery was $60 or $70 at Circuit City).
I returned everything and paid $299 for the Nikon Coolpix S7c (step up from S6), $69 (after $20 mail in rebate) for a TWO gig Sandisk Ultra II memory card, only $15 for a spare battery. I then purchased a Nikon camera case for $30 and STILL had quite a lot of money remaining from my prior Sony purchases!
So far I am very pleased with the image quality and considerably cheaper price. I guess I will just need to take some time to read the instruction manual for a change. However, the Nikon does seem far more user-friendly than my previous Olympus Stylus.
Also, I wasn't sure if I should list this as a strength or weakness since people have different preferences...the Nikon S7c has a docking station which also serves as a charger when the camera is docked. I think I might prefer having a separate plug-in charger as well to charge a spare battery while your camera is in use or docked. I might check to see if this is available as an accesory.

nikon
Strengths: huge screen, and easy to use.. plus hot sleek look!
Weakness: none
Me and my dad are both photographers well my dad is im still in high school. I already have a nikon d70 which is AMAZING for taking pictures that you want to switch lenses. But i needed something to take with me just when hanging out with friends. So for chirstmas my dad got me the coolpix s7c. Its perfect for taking fast pictures and the images are BEAUTIFUL. i could easly take high quality pictures of landscapes. and i already have! And the camera is very small so its easy to carry around unlike my d70. i havent had a chance to hook up the wifi yet but i just know it will come in handy. The HUGE screen also helps you see every detail in the picture. i just got my camera for chirstmas (16 days ago) and i already have taken over 400 pictures and not too mention have many jelous friends! i cant say enough how much i love this camera!

COOLPIX S7c
Strengths: Sleek, all-metal design that easy to hold and simple to store. Huge 3" LCD.
Weakness: None so far
Nikon really put out a great camera for people looking for a nice point-and-shoot. The LCD in the back is great, the controls are intuitive and various functions are easy to navigate and use. The quality Nikon optics ensure great pictures, and the combination of optical and digital zoom in such a slim case is pure icing on the cake. The wireless is an interesting feature and would turn out to be very helpful when you are away from home and want to upload photos and dont have the dock with you. Just watch out for battery life when using wireless though. Carry an extra battery.
Great camera for someone who wants a nice point-and-shoot.

Awesome digital camera - everything but the kitchen sink
Strengths: All metal body, optical zoom lense does not move, built in wireless, huge 3" LCD, accepts standard SD cards, slim sleek design, everything you need included in the box (except for a memory card)
Weakness: Does not take standard batteries
Nikon really went above and beyond when it came to this camera! My previous digital camera was a Fuji Finepix, and I never was impressed with it. It had a optical lense that moved in an out of the camera body - one of my relatives dropped the camera while the lense was extended and bent the lense - resulting in a useless paperweight. So the first thing that I was looking for in a replacement was robustness. The Nikon has a all-metal body, not cheap plastic like many others, the lense is quality Nikon and there are no external moving parts to break. Another problem with the Fuji was the proprietary XD memory card which work with nothing else out there expcept Fuji and Olympus cameras, unless you buy special adapters. Nikon accepts the standard SD cards which can be used in PDAs, cell phones, variety of digital cameras, and many computers , TVs and monitors, laptops and other devices now come with builtin slots for SD cards. I have yet to test the wireless functionality - I think it will be a nice feature to have for home use, but not so useful away from home due to drain on batteries. SPeaking of batteries, that is the only complaint I have for this otherwise perfect camera - cannot use AA/AAA batteries - which would be a nice feature to have in case of emergency. But the slim form factor probably does not allow such batteries to be installed. Minor complaint - if you feel you need it, buy an extra battery for peace of mind. Bottom line - awesome piece of kit!

I'm glad I bought it ....but the power on-off button is too small
Strengths: I was slow to realize the value of the many of the pre-configured "scenes" choices. They are worth learning. Great screen display.
Weakness: the power on-off button is killing me. it's TOO small. If i could retro fit it somehow, I would.
I've had it several months and have taken hundreds of pics with it. I keep it in a small leather pouch with the end open. I was slow to realize the value of the many of the pre-configured "scenes" choices. They are worth learning. Great screen display.

Tops
Strengths: sleek design,7.1MP Internal Memory, WiFi, 3in viewing screen.
Weakness: I would say the expensive price is a weakness but it is worth the price.
This camera is great all around. It is easy to use and it takes great action shots. It has something in it that stablizes the picture so all of my pictures turn out great. The WiFi is great also, i use this feature all the time.
