To the people who comment about the higher per port price compared to the 8 port version: switching processing power is not LINEAR per port, but by the SQUARE.
A rough approximation is (8*8)/(16*16) i.e. a 8 port switch requires only 25% of the processing power of a 16 port switch. Enclosure and other costs are more or less constant, but the electronics and power requirements are not.
This is why you won't find switches above a certain number of ports, because the costs would either go up astronomically, or the processing power would exceed currently available technology.
