Awesome zoom/ Small size
Strengths: 10x zoom on a pocket-sized camera. Photo sharpness. Seems durable and solid.
Weakness: Could not find in silver, but I can live with black.....
This camera replaced my SD500 that was getting outdated.
The ONLY thing I did not like with the SD500 is that there was no zoom. I used to be a big slr fan, until I got used to putting a camera in my pocket, and forgetting I even had it. When you have an slr, it's like toting around a suitcase, compared to these smaller camera's. Slr's are great, but try to take them skiing/ hiking/ biking etc... I have shown people some 13 x 19 enlargements, and they could not believe they were from a "Pocket Camera". Very impressive picture quality with the I.S. on the zoom. The 10x optical is like using a 300mm+ SLR lens that fits in your pocket!! I also like the canon software for editing/storing the pics.
I've only used it for a week, but so far, very impressed.

Canon PowerShot SX110IS
Strengths: Great zoom, faster Digic III Processor, plenty of megapixels, outstanding colors. Good enough aperture value range, great shutter speed range.
Weakness: Although there is a descent variety of scene settings, I would have liked to see a "museum" setting, but that can be fixed with other adjustments. Also, no viewfinder.
So far, the pictures I have taken look great. The only things that could potentially come across as "bothersome" might be that the flash needs to be manually opened, and also that the LCD screen makes the pictures look almost a bit grainy while being taken - but after the photo is taken, it looks amazing.
Honestly, this camera is wonderful. It is exactly what I was looking for: a top-of-the-line, "professional" point-and-shoot. It seems to be the border between point-and-shoots and digital SLRs.

Outstanding!
Strengths: 10X Zoom, Lots of mode and scene selection choices, Large display
Weakness: No viewfinder, Alkaline batteries don't last very long, No screen protector film, Price was more than expected to move up from previous Canon
This replaced a Canon A550 that I had taken over 3000 pictures with. The Zoom with IS is great! The 3" display is really outstanding. Many choices of modes and scenes provides for almost every reasonable situation, ie Fireworks, Foliage, etc. With an Extreme III card, camera is really fast. Weight is reasonable. Nice Black color.

Ultra zoom in a compact package
Strengths: Ultra Zoom (10x), compact, manual controls, large LCD screen, uses AA batteries
Weakness: Zooming in, in macro mode gives blurry image, iso cannot be selected in auto mode
Was looking for a camera that had good zoom, but wasnt too big. Well this camera, has a 10X zoom in a relatively compact body. Only other camera to match the compactness with the zoom is the panasonic TZ4.
This camera takes nice pictures, very nice saturated and bright colors. The camera also has a number of scene modes and also allows for manual control. Allows you to go all the way up to ISO 1600, but the images get very very blurry. The camera has an AF assist lamp for low light focusing. The body feels good, although plastic, the camera is heavy and strong enough. Has optical image stabilisation, large LCD screen that gives a really good perspective during taking pictures.
Some of the problems I encountered were that in the macro and sometimes in the normal mode, while zooming in the images become blurry. You can see the camera fine tuning the zoom and does manage to focus it for a moment, but does not lock onto it and the image goes out of focus again. ANother issue, is that in auto or even some of the scene modes the camera automatically choses the ISO (generally above 200). The images can get a little blurred at high ISOs. The camera does not allow you to set the ISO for the auot and the scene modes.

Best Digital Camera I've owned
Strengths: Display is huge! Pictures are crisp and clear. This camera is sexy and I get compliments on it wherever I take it. Simply takes better pictures than the NIKON cameras I have owned.
Weakness: This camera is a little heavy in terms of weight but it has so much punch in it's picture clarity it makes up for the beefiness of this camera.
I would only recommend THIS camera to any of my friends or family. I will only stick with CANON cameras because of the price, reliability and quality of photos. It's the easiest point and shoot camera I'ver ever owned. Also, I think Nikkon's are overrated because I own two and need to Craig's list them because I think they are junk compared to this one. HANDS DOWN CANON MAKES THE BEST CAMERAS!!

What a disappointment
Strengths: Everything except for one thing.
Weakness: Purple Fringing.
Excellent manual controls, good quality lens, blah blah blah.. until you actually take a high contrast picture, especially in a zoom. Look at the straight edges of an object blocking the light. Purple fringes. The most ugly fringes I've ever seen even in DCs that are half the price. What were they thinking? The bright side is that I didn't feel it's cheapo price was much of a loss, cos there's no way I can morally sell, exchange or even give away this piece if junk to anyone, even to a stranger, the guilt would plague me.

Great Digital Camera
Strengths: Huge display area, easy to operate, takes great movies too
Weakness: Weight, battery life a little short.
Bought this camera to take to professional tennis tournaments which I attend several each year as a fan. It performed up to expectations with 10x getting some great pictures. I even took a videos that looked so good one of the players pulled it off YouTube and placed it on his website! Using this camera to take hundreds of shots and numerous videos exhausts the battery fairly quickly, which is the only downside I can see to this great camera.

The Black Magic
Strengths: Clear images, Good zoom and Manual Controls
Weakness: Shutter lag particularly after a full burst with flash
It's a wonderful camera in its price range and category. Despite being a P&S digicam; it offers almost all the manual controls of a DSLR. For best results; mount it on a tripod and shoot anything - it will look like pro quality even at extreme zoom of 40x. Play with the manual controls and get even better pictures.

This camera is a good deal for the money...i use it for day to day photos and it is easy to upload the pics on the computer. The quality of the pics and light are very good. I beleive it is a good fair deal

Great Pocket Camera
Strengths: Great day light/bright room images. Excellent zoom. Great Canon Menus and customization.
Weakness: Flash recharge rate is VERY slow. Even when used as fill flash.
I am a big believer that you get what you pay for. For less than $200 this is a great camera. The LCD is bright and can be view in almost any condition (even with sunglasses), the zoom alows you grwat freedom in composing the images and the 10mp images print very nice in a wide variety of sizes. This camera (like all cameras under $500 and without a hotshoe) falls down a bit when used in lower light or any indoors except the most brightly lit rooms. I expected this and I do not feel it diminishes the quality of this camera at all. ISOs above 400 produce fairly noisy pictures, but when used with the flash the results are good. The recharge rate on the flash (especially when it fires at max power) is very long and is the only disappointing feature about this camera. For a camera that fits in the fort pocket of my jeans, it is excellecnt and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a simple and easy to use point and shoot camera that produces great results.

Canon PowerShot SX110 IS (black)
THE GOOD: First-rate photo quality; full set of manual exposure controls. THE BAD: No optical zoom in movie capture; slippery body; spotty performance. THE BOTTOM LINE: Though its certainly a good, inexpensive megazoom camera, some aspects of the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS fall a bit short of its predecessor.

Canon PowerShot SX110 IS
The Canon SX110 IS manages to pack an optically stabilized 10x zoom lens into a relatively compact body, but its image quality still competes very well with that of full-sized long-zoom cameras. In high ISO shooting, it gives up a little ground to Canon's own SX10 IS, which uses a more powerful version of Canon's Digic processor, but the SX110 IS's more compact body is much easier to pack along...
