Mixed Feelings
I bought this camera in thinking that I would use this as backup for my D7000, but this camera is more geared towards a point & shoot method of photography and does not meet my requirements for using it as a backup. Good points about the camera are that t

Nikon 1 V1 w/ 10-30mm VR and 30-110mm VR Lenses
Crutchfield has collected 3 user reviews for this product with an average rating of 5.0 out of 5 stars. The most recent reviewer said, "I have been a serious amateur photographer for several and have a larger DSLR camera. It was really getting to be difficult to carry the camera and lenses every time we went on hike or bike ride and I began looking for a smaller alternative. This little NIKON and more than I could have hoped for. It does almost everything that I can do with my larger camera and it is so much easier to carry. I have used it for about a month at a wedding and also on a nature shoot. What a treat to be able to walk around without having to lug my heavy backpack. The pictures are beautiful! I am looking forward to a new grandchild later in the year and I already know that the continuous shoot feature will make certain that I get all of his first smiles! If you want a smaller camera with lots of power, this is the one. Just a couple of notes: The fixed 10mm lens is a bit tight when mounting. In fact, I returned the first one because it just does not go on in the same way as the zoom lenses. There is also not a camera bag that fits it exactly. I have just ordered the Lowepro Messenger 150 and I think it will do the trick. I wanted to be able to carry the camera, all three lenses and the flash as well as the charger. "

Suffice it to say there's also HD movies with tracking focus, but the V1 can also grab high res images at the same time, so you no longer need to choose between photos and video. I tested the V1 alongside the cheaper...

Nikon V1 Review
Choosing a smaller sensor, the Nikon V1 didn't earn a lot to praise from the spec hounds at its introduction, but Nikon was aiming at a smaller system overall, including lenses. They certainly achieved that, while maintaining excellent image quality and including impressively fast autofocus speed. Though many were disappointed with the smaller sensor, our test results show the Nikon V1's image...
