The most recent reviewer said, "I have had time to play around with this camera and I am in love with it. Not only is it portable but takes beautiful pictures just like a DSLR would take. I took pictures of the moon at night and you could see the detail in the Moon, craters and all!! You don't even need to use flash all the time to take great pictures but even with flash they are perfect! I have always been a canon user and will continue to be one after this little beauty. "

Pretty much perfect for the purpose!
