Strengths: Compact, easy to use, can figure out without reading instruction booklet.

Weakness: I recommend buying the stylus separately because I don't like getting fingerprints on the touchscreen, which is bound to happen.

Cybershot DSC -N2 10 megapixel compace

Strengths: Size, huge LCD screen, availability of underwater housing, ease of use, usual sony quality, battery life.

Weakness: have to buy memory card, cheap trick that Sony. No shade screen available for underwater housing although you can increase the screen brightness, battery charge time

Great camera, i always buy Sony cameras, this is my 3rd, if you are used to the cybershot family then this will seem familiar. Easy to use and fast too and packing 10 mega pixels i cant wait to get this underwater. Touch screen very nice, i hope this proves to be durable. I suppose i paid top dollar for mine - 399 but i usually keep my cameras at least 3 years and this will be future proof and still taking high quality pics for the next couple of years. I am not sure what use the the paint feature is yet but perhaps i have yet to discover it properly?

SONY DSC-N2

Strengths: HUGE 3.0" Touch panel and 10.1 Mega pixels, nice new portable wall charger that uses no wires!

Weakness: None I could see!

Fantastic price for all the options available. Last 3 cameras I owned were Sony - they just keep making them better and better! Would be cool if they made them in different colors, like Casio.

It also supports 10 megapixels, although many argue there is really no apparent visual difference of picture quality once the pixel count went above 6 megapixels.

Are you frustrated with low battery issues at end of day during trip and could not take photos of important moments? Some people may buy spare batteries, but it is generally expensive like $30-$40 a piece. According to CIPA standard, a fully charged battery for Sony Cybershot-N2 with LCD turned on allow you to take a maximum 300 shots. This is very good as compared to other compact camera's batteries. The Canon Powershot S900 only takes 230 shots.

The feature is generally good, with many preset settings for different lighting/background situations: Twilight, Landscape, Fireworks, Snow, Incandescent, etc. The ISO sensitivity of this camera can go to 1600. The Program mode also allows many settings. The camera also support menu systems in many languages, like French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese (simplified/traditional), etc.

The only drawback of the N2 is the lack of image stabilization technology at low-lighting situation. Many newer cameras start to incorporate the IS feature and thus it is something you should consider.

Overall, it is an excellent and versatile camera for the average consumers.
