Just as I expected.
Strengths: Fits perfectly my D40x... nice material... nice design overall
Weakness: Still a little flimsy... a couple pockets for sd card or lens cover would be nice.
Got this a while ago for my D40x and it fits perfectly. Overall, it works just fine for me. It's a little flimsy, so a harder backing might be useful. Some pockets might be useful for storing SD card and/or lens cover.

Serves its purpose to protect the camera, could be better...
Strengths: My D40 fits this case perfectly.
Weakness: Lack of pocket to store len cover.
I got this case about a week ago and am loving it. The case stores the standard len very well and it serves it purpose to protect the camera. However, it would be nice if there is a pocket inside to store the len cover so I don't have to put it in my jacket.

Nikon Semi-Soft Case
Strengths: Good fit for both standard lens & 55-200 mm Zoom lens. Corner snap helps to hold camera strap in place.
Weakness: May not adequately protect the camera when packed in checked baggage.
The Nikon Semi-Soft case, for the Nikon D-40 & D40x, fits very well with both the standard 18-55 mm lens and the 55-200 mm zoom lens. If packed carefully with your checked baggage, the camera will arrive in good shape. However, the best way to travel with this case protecting your camera, is to place it in your carry on baggage. Overall, it meets my requirements for added protection for my camera...
