Strengths: Can get 1080i signal to your HD TV
Weakness: No Video playback. photos only marginally better.
The photos do look a little better with this HD cable versus the standard cable, nothing to brag about though. One of the major drawbacks is that when using this cable and setting the camera output to 1080i (automatically set by the camera, when using this cable), you cannot playback video clips. It says it is not supported. Nowhere did I find any reference to this. Somewhere Sony does mention...

Sony VMC-MHC1 HD Output Adapter Cable
Strengths: It a simple product that works as advertised.
Weakness: None than I have yet found.
This allows one to display pictures taken on a Sony Camera on a High Definition television set. The number of connections required is a bit of a hassle, and there is probable a more elegant or high tech way to do so, but the product does work as advertised.
