The photos do look a little better with this HD cable versus the standard cable, nothing to brag about though. Nowhere did I find any reference to this. Somewhere Sony does mention that use this cable to view photos in HD. But they do not say explicitly that you cannot watch video clips.

I am very disappointed with this cable.

Strengths: It a simple product that works as advertised.

Weakness: None than I have yet found.

This allows one to display pictures taken on a Sony Camera on a High Definition television set. The number of connections required is a bit of a hassle, and there is probable a more elegant or high tech way to do so, but the product does work as advertised.

I bought this cable to connect my camera to my 26" Sony Bravia HD TV. This is the only option available for my camera, Sony does not offer a docking station.
I wanted to see my pictures on my TV , and see them in High Definition. This cable connects as a component cable, with 3 colors for video and 2 connectors for audio.
When you connect the camera, turn it on and begin a slide show with sound, the results are crystal clear, and you can hear the slideshow music on the TV along with the pictures. An added benefit is that the pictures fill in the screen and you can see all your pictures in wide screen and in high definition.
If you are familiar with Sony's Slideshow feature, between each picture, the screen transitions and fades to the next picture. You can choose between 6 different transitions and 8 different music selections. If the slideshow continues more then 3 minutes, you can repeat the same music, or play a choice of 8 different music choices, without repeating each song.
The bottom line is that this makes watching your pictures very enjoyable.
