All the medium format film cameras that I use in my studio have a PC flash output, however when I added a digital camera, it only has a hot shoe. I tried to use the inbuilt flash in the digital camera to trigger the studio flash units but no success - although they trigger they do not sync with the digital camera's shutter. The only option that I had was to buy a Hot Shoe to PC Adapter. Reviewing my purchasing options, the Nikon AS-15 unit is about twice as expensive as other non brand units - however speaking with a photographic colleague he told me that the Nikon AS -15 unit has built in surge protection which is important based on the cost of my camera and flash equipment. I purchased the Nikon AS-15 and I am extremely pleased with the results and also it feels very well made.

Strengths: This what I need for my camera.

Weakness: None

This AS-15 Sync terminal Adapter is what I need for my Nikon D-70. It works great with my studio light strobes and other equipment as well. I haven't used much, but I like it so far for my portrait pictures.
