Strengths: Lens Quality, Great Zoom, Size

Sony is a brand that makes lots of products, and so they're camera is just another one in the market, trying to satisfy every buyer. Nikon is an only camera, lens brand, they make they're own lenses (Sony had to buy Carl Zeiss brand to better they're cameras).

Its a very cheap camera for what it is, you get quality and a good looking point and shoot.

The shutter lag is normal to good, and you can take lots of pictures with flash, in short time, so for birthdays or MUST CATCH moments, its amazing!!!

The scene and smile mode are the best, and more than ever since, NIKON whas the first brand to patent the SMILE SHUTTER. Works great and has a memory for faces.

The shipping was amazing, I ordered it on thursday 24. July, and the camera came to my hands on saturday the 26 of july, so don't pay any extra money in the shipping! Its usesless :D. I live in PA, near NJ so maybe that's why the shipping whas so fast.

I'm very happy with what I bought since, in my home country, Chile, the camera is available for 350.00 USD, in cheap places.

Light, compact, easy to use

Strengths: great zoom

Weakness: iso noise is excessive

like the camera and the photos. The zoom is good and unheard of for a camera this size. easy to use even without reading the manual. One problem, it comes with a rechargeable battery# Li-ion EN-EL11 but...I can't find anyone who sells it yet (I like a backup battery). Pure brilliance in small package

Weakness: software on the camera itself could be a bit better

I absolutely adore my new S550 Coolpix! Everything you want is packed into this tiny camera - 10 megapixels (yes - you can mage humongous photos out of it), 5x optical zoom where in other cameras this goes only to 3x. It has a smile detector, and automatic ISO (up to 2000 which means you can take a picture without a light in an enclosed space). Of course, you can use your S550 as a camcorder and with a 2gb SD card you could record up to 30 minutes of footage.

Light, compact, but still powerful!

Strengths: small, light, long battery life, big screen, powerful zoom, great picture resolution, cool design.

Weakness: requires light, otherwise pictures are not clear

I got this camera few days ago with a complimentary 2 flash memory. Since then I keep amazing myself by exploring the features. Size, pictures and video quality are the top factors to buy it. Very convenient for a person like me who doesn't like carrying heavy stuff in pockets or hands but yet having all the mighty features.

I ordered this camera. But my frd was using it we went for a trip to LA, there i had experience with it. It is very good. I would recommend my frds to buy this camera.
