Product Details of Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 Black Digital Camera

Description

Panasonic's Lumix DMC-GF3 realizes all the features you want from a bulky DSLR interchangeable lens camera, only it accomplishes this in an ultra compact point-and-shoot camera body about as wide and tall as a typical smart phone yet is lightweight and simple to master. This remarkable reduction in size and weight is thanks to advancements in new mirror-free camera technology, and large DSLR format sensors that are more compatible with a new class of compact Micro Four Thirds System lenses. This new class of Compact System Cameras offers a weight and compactness not seen in traditional DSLRs, yielding greater portability and creative control. The DMC-GF3s image quality comes from a large DSLR-sized 12.1-megapixel sensor and newly advanced image processing technologies.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 (with 14-42mm lens, Black)

THE GOOD: Relatively compact for its class, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 delivers excellent performance and good-to-great photo quality. THE BAD: Its missing features like a tilting LCD, EVF option, and stereo audio capability that some competitors offer. THE BOTTOM LINE: The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 offers the type of performance and photo quality in a relatively small design many point-and-shoot...

Panasonic Lumix GF3 review at Camera Labs

The Lumix GF3 is Panasonic's third 'pocketable' compact to employ the Micro Four Thirds standard. Arriving just seven months after the GF2, it packs a large sensor into a small body with a removable lens mount, and like that model makes further reductions in size and weight; indeed the GF3 becomes the smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera (ILC) with a built-in flash, while also...

DCRP Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3

The Lumix DMC-GF3 is the smallest camera in Panasonic's Micro Four Thirds lineup. It also marks a turning point in the GF-series, which has gone from a rangefinder-style camera with lots of pro features to something that resembles a point-and-shoot camera, though manual controls are still present. I can't say that I like the downsizing of the GF-series, as it compromises ergonomics, and...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 Review

Hailing from a camera line aimed squarely at enthusiasts, the Panasonic GF3 seems to be angling for consumers, a move that may alienate enthusiast fans. Its 12-megapixel sensor, 3-inch LCD, and touchscreen controls all fit into digicam-size space, yet it first shipped with a non-zooming 14mm kit lens. We think most consumers will want the zoom kit. Its pop-up flash takes the space where a hot...
