Strengths: Highly integrated Office tools help transfering data and graphics between programs very simple. It's almost necessary for people who do presentation or training on a regular basis.
Weakness: Microsoft's monopoly makes it quite expensive to obtain, unless your company is willing to pay for it of course.
For most everyday users, there's not much difference between Office 2003 and Office XP, or even Office 2000. The reasons that I got it is because it's the most recent Office release and it's compatible with Windows XP. I did ran into a bug during installation of the Business Contact Manager. It complained about "not enough space in drive C:" due to the installer miscalculating the available disk...
